When Weber High School’s lacrosse coach challenged his players to deactivate social media for an entire season, they agreed to become part of an experiment no high school team has attempted before.
What began as a strategy to improve team culture became something much bigger:
A powerful exploration of human connection, and what young people gain when they spend less time online and more time with each other.
Why This Story
Matters Now
Teenagers are more connected than ever. Yet anxiety, loneliness, and mental health struggles continue to rise.
No generation has grown up with smartphones, social media, and constant digital connection the way today's teenagers have. And no generation has been asked to navigate adolescence while carrying an algorithm in their pocket.
At the same time, parents, educators, coaches, and mental health professionals are asking the same question: What have we gained from constant connection—and what have we lost?
We Over Me offers a rare glimpse into that reality.
